Green Flags in relationships stay away from red flags

Transcription

Hi, my name is Michelle Mindful, podcast host. Today we will be discussing the top five green flags in any relationship. So you’ve heard me, your friends and the media talk about red flags a lot, but today we will be discussing green flags. Seems like everyone always wants to talk about the bad in relationship. Today we are focusing on discussing the opposite. The good thing. Green flags suggest that you are compatible with your partner and can be a good predictor that their relationship will last. Remember, every relationship needs and wants and expectations are different. But here to help you are five green flags to look out for as a sign of a healthy relationship. Five commitment. They make time for you and they are invested in the relationship. They don’t have excuses. They show up, they make plans, and most importantly, you get the gut feeling that they are committed. Four conflict resolution. So important, they take responsibility for their actions, and you both work as a team to solve them. This one is so important because conflicts will arise and having good communication and problem solving skills will help you in those situations. Three independence. You have your own interests and goals, so you know you’re allowed to have girls night out, for example, or maybe you go to your yoga class and he goes to play golf. Whatever the activity is, it is healthy to have your independence, not to lose yourself in the relationship. Number two self confidence. You feel comfortable being yourself. Doesn’t matter how goofy you are, or how you dress, talk, or dance or you think you dance, but you can’t. This person loves you for who you are and vice versa. And number one safety. They respect your boundaries. You feel safe physically and emotionally. Boundaries are the number one green flag. If you’re not sure what I’m talking about, refer to my previous video. By both communicating and respecting each other’s boundaries, the relationship will have no other choice but to flourish, and the feeling of safety will remain throughout the years.
